Vail ยท Trail of the Week, August 5, 2024North Trail
This Vail classic mixes alpine terrain and steep climbing with screaming descents and big views. From the Red Sandstone trailhead you hit steep switchbacks, a loose waterbar descent and a stream crossing near beaver ponds before climbing to wildflower fields and Gore Range views at the high point. A pedally descent through aspens leads into a rerouted flowing switchback section and onto the Davos doubletrack. A twisty final singletrack section drops you back to the frontage roads.
