Son of Middle Creek
Son of Middle Creek is a summer classic out of Spraddle Creek: aspen glade descents, rocky plunges and Vail Valley views. The ride starts with a dusty grind up FS 700 toward Piney Lake before turning off toward Lost Lake, where the singletrack appears a few hundred feet up the road. Expect short technical sections, rollers through pine forest, stream crossings and a handful of false summits before the payoff. At the T intersection you can drop onto North Trail or stay left for another 1,000-plus feet of descending back to the trailhead.

Trailhead & parking
Spraddle Creek Trailhead
Start from the Spraddle Creek trailhead just off the main Vail exit roundabout. Ride west on the North Frontage Road, turn up Red Sandstone Road, then take the dirt FS 700 toward Piney Lake.
